CIRCLES Vision Quest

Vision Quest and Elder Vision Quest

May 2011

A message from Hua: Hua Anwa, Metis Elder

Blessings to all. Wow - the Vision Quests last month (April 2011) were amazing and magical. The five questers were steady and strong. They reset their life's journeys on a clear path. Thank you to Naranaja, Erin, Shantel, Doe Star, and our Elder, Jade for the giveaway of all your prayers. And thank you to the land caretaker Nicole for that ridge line.

I want to share this vision that came to us on the first day: We had just sent the questers out to plant in their circles. Blue Horse and I were alone in camp and we were looking out over the vista of the whole valley when a full rainbow arched over the entire scene. At the direct center above was an Eagle spiraling and at the direct center below were 2 vultures spiraling. We were stunned at this magnificent sight. Life above, Death below, Rainbow through the middle. Wow! We knew it was a good powerful sign of community and purpose.

Would you like to show some love through a donation either in the name of a individual quester or to the group of questers? Send in checks made out to "Circles of Empowerment" with a note, or if using PayPal, add a note in the message to vendor section to indicate which quester you are honoring. Our next group will be Tobey White Heart, Stephanie Blue Horse, Janice Hawk Woman, and Trish Moon Bear.

May 2010

Last year’s Quest was an extraordinary event, harmonious from start to finish. It was an honor to be a part of the Questing. We had 5 solid commitments for this year's Vision Quest, including one Elder. Thank you for your prayers and your commit to Quest:  Hawk Stands Strong Woman, White Heart, Aweepano, Blue Horse, and Grandmother Turtle Heart.

The entire experience was truly smooth with everyone feeling well organized, well supplied, well funded and offering up a co-creation, a deep focus for many different and diverse people who came together to make this dream come true. We had many helpers, donors, guests and elders who came by with spiritual support, food, labor and vehicles – to all of you, our warmest thanks and prayers for ongoing grace and ease in your life.  Thank you to those who participated in the site build.  Deep gratitude to the land owner Nicole, for her attentions and grace.

What is a Vision Quest?

Since the beginning of this cycle of time, humanity has returned to nature to connect with spirit and to seek answers to problems of the physical realms, especially in these days when the messages of prophecy reveal themselves to the seeker. In its own way, the vision quest is an Initiation not unlike the days of the ancient mystery school teachings where one learns about themselves and the mysteries of the universe are often revealed to them. Who am I? Why am I here? It is a time of internal transformation and renewal.

A Vision Quest usually lasts two to four days, with Questers planted in privacy within their own sacred circles, during which time the seeker delves deeply into their soul. This is known as "going up The Hill".  In our Vision Quests, the Questers fast but have water and spiritual support from the community.  The physical surroundings and deep communion with Nature allow the spirit to move into a dimensional reality of total connectedness.

In ancient times, the entire clan prepared for the Vision Quest, bringing food for those watching out for the Questers, wood, prayers and other support. The clan watched for the return of the Questers to hear the visions they had received for the well-being of the entire clan.
