What Do We Do?
We have had Visioning meetings and formed a small group that is undertaking the business tasks of setting our feet onto the path of our dreams. It has been deeply heard that the community desires a permanent location, with facilities dedicated not only to Long Dance, Sweat Lodge and other ceremonial purposes, but also for teaching, body care, medicine making, gardening and even elder care into the future.
How to make this a reality and gain solid organizational footing such that we can attract support, donors and sponsors is what the Action Circle is currently addressing. We welcome new members and need your input! Please contact any of the sisters below who regularly attend Action Circle meetings to express your desire to become an integral manifestor of this beautiful vision that benefits our entire community and models what is possible in the world.

Open Letter to Our Community:
Over the years we have nurtured the wish for Long Dance to be in a better, more beautiful, more permanent site, with a stronger, more empowered group of sisters and brothers supporting this vision and truly holding a sacred space in which positive world change is possible. We are pleased to announce that deep progress for this vision is now under way, in this, the 20th year of Long Dance – and we are asking YOU to be a part of making it happen! We couldn't be more excited!
We now have two new websites to greatly ease the communications, registration and general information needs of our growing community. As you are probably aware, not only does the organization behind Long Dance host our annual event, but we also hold space for a variety of sacred circles, including full moon ceremony, Grandmother teachings, sweat lodges, drum circle and vision quest. We offer these ceremonies and additional teachings to the community, and we also have a scholarship fund so that none need be turned away from seeking their own sacred journey. We also support the community with donations to women shelters and contribute our resources to many projects that various members propose for support. We are proud of this work and grateful for the chance to serve in a meaningful way. Thank you for being part of all this Beauty!
As we expand to meet the needs and requests of an ever larger community, we are introducing a new name: Circles of Empowerment. We are still the non-denominational Church of Empowerment, with our non-profit 501 C3, tax-deductible status, but we want to make it easier for members to join us in our work. Our goal remains the same: to offer a safe space for ceremonial expression and healing to people who are in need of grounding, guidance, stability and loving support as they face the many challenges of modern life in contemporary society. As part of our re-organization, we hope that you will join us in one of our newest circles – the Action Circle!
The Action Circle is created for those who show up and take a stand. The Action Circle is a place where you can offer ideas, take an active role in strengthening the Church, meet the needs of your community, and participate in your own personal development towards leadership, living in love, support, acceptance and effective action.
In addition to becoming a part of the Action Circle, we would like to invite you to join in supporting the Church in all its many offerings by becoming an official member. After much research into other organizations, we are creating a way for anyone and everyone to participate in the work of the Church through the establishment of a donation program for members. In addition to providing some funds, a strong membership roster will also help us as we seek donors for large scale projects. Ideally, monthly memberships demonstrate commitment and help to ease the burden of the Church expenses which have been carried until now by a very small number.
It is time to ask the whole community to shoulder at least some of the expenses as we expand and grow to meet the needs of an ever widening circle of people looking for the special meaning they find in our Circles of Empowerment. You can make your pledge arrangements via PayPal by going to the Donate page on this website or by sending a monthly check. We are working on automating payments to make it even easier.
Thank you so much for ALL you do to make the world a more beautiful, brighter and harmonious place. We applaud the right livelihood of all our members and know that together, there is nothing we can not do to make the world a better place.
